BOSS Payment Watch: New Fees and Charges Structure - Effective from 1 July 2025
The British Oil Security Syndicate (BOSS) is introducing a revised fee and charge structure for BOSS Payment Watch to support the efficient management and recovery of unpaid fuel incidents. This update affects how administration fees are applied to unpaid fuel incidents for both No Means of Payment (NMoP) and Drive-Off incidents.
1. No Means of Payment (NMoP) Incidents
When a motorist declares No Means of Payment at the time of fuelling:
- No administration fee will apply if the motorist returns to the forecourt and pays within 3 days of the incident report.
- If the motorist chooses to pay online or over the phone, an administration fee will apply based on the timing of payment.
Administration Fee Schedule for NMoP:

| 0–3 days from report | £25 |
| 4–14 days from report | £50 |
| 15 days or more | £65 |
2. Drive-Off / Failure-to-Pay Incidents
For motorists who leave the site without making payment or contact (Drive-Off):
- Administration fees are applied to the unpaid debt based on the time elapsed since the incident.
- Administration Fee Schedule for Drive-Offs:

These changes are designed to encourage prompt payment and ensure fair recovery of administration costs incurred when dealing with unpaid fuel cases.
